Pre school and Primary Shows           seniors and social clubs

Flamingo Strings are performing the show Listen To This! It is all about fun, emotion and storytelling through the medium of music. From original music composed especially for the quartet to some great classics like the Four Seasons by Vivaldi, the audience (children and adults alike) will be using their ears and eyes to feel and experience the many sensations a live musical performance can conjure. 

The show also incorporates discussion and demonstration of different elements of music, like tempo, dynamics, rhythm, string playing technique and timbre, all within the fun and dynamic performance. ​It won't be a sitting and watching only performance though. The audience will be asked to help perform a piece and answer questions about what they are hearing and feeling, whilst also learning about some of the techniques the musicians are using to create emotion and manipulate their instruments. There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask Flamingo Strings questions they might have towards the end of the performance. There might even be a prize given to students who are listening very well and answer some tricky questions. 

Teachers will also be provided with an exclusive educational package that can be used either as preparation for our show or as post show follow up and consolidation of the topics covered in the show. 

Flamingo Strings are passionate about music and developing children's love of music, from  children who have never even seen a string instrument before, to those who are studying already. Our dream would be for many children to walk away from our presentations asking to learn our instruments because they have discovered a love of classical music they never knew they had. Or begging their parents to go and see some more classical music in other concerts because they have found out just how engaging and inspiring live music can be. 

We also put on extra themed concerts in the community, so keep an eye out on our socials for announcements. 

The Two Little Flamingos is a show specifically designed for children aged 2-5 years old. It is a duo of violin and cello and covers many of the same ideas and concepts as the full quartet but in a manner appropriate for younger minds and concentration times.

We now offer a lovely show for Senior Citizens Clubs, Social clubs, Probus clubs etc. It is a lovely selection of classical music from Bach to John Williams and lots in between! We present in between the music about how the string quartet works, the history of the music we are playing and a little about our lives as musicians.
