Curriculum outcomes
Our shows meet many of the outcomes in the Education Department’s curriculum for the Arts up to year 6.
We explore many aural skills and elements of music including; the concepts of rhythm and tempo, dynamics, detecting pitch differences, timbre differences between instruments and the techniques they employ, major and minor harmonies and dissonances.
The live performance also helps children in responses to the arts, including participating as an audience both passively and actively, clapping in appreciation, emotionally responding to the different concepts explored and how that can impact mood and feeling, and getting to express specifically how music is impacting them on an emotional level or expanding their imagination.
